Amy Jo Sawyer, 2014 winner of the ISMTA Composer Commissioning Program, was asked to compose 3 new pieces of various levels and styles to be performed at the ISMTA Conference on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Millikin University's Kaueper Hall. Phyllis Wang was invited to learn and perform Reverie, a late intermediate piece that showcases a number of mood and character changes in a flowing, romantic like style. NSMTA Sonata-Sonatina Festival, February 15, 2015
Congratulations to the following students who participated in the NSMTA Sonata-Sonatina Festival on February 15, 2015: Michael Chen, Lily Dong, Aaron Gan, Fei Wu and Tiffany Yen.
Michael Chen earned a gold medal, and will participate in the Gold Medal Winners Recital on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lake Forest.
Silver medal winners were Lily Dong, Aaron Gan, Fei Wu and Tiffany Yen.
Libertyville Piano Festival 1st Trophy earned in 2015
Students earn points each year of participation at the Libertyville Piano Festival, based on their rating. 1st Place rating earns 5 points, 2nd place rating earns 4 points and 3rd place rating earns 3 points. Once students accumulate a total of 15 points, they are awarded a 1st Trophy, and each subsequent accumulation of 15 points earns additional trophies.

NWSMTA Festival of Pianos on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Northbrook Court
The 21st annual NWSMTA Festival of Pianos took place on Sunday, September 28, ongoing from 11:30 am - 5:00 pm at Northbrook Court. There were 8 programs of duet music simultaneously played on 6 Steinway and Boston grand pianos. Members from NWSMTA shared the podium as they each took turns conducting the 8 programs. Students that participated in this event this year were Beth Aquino, Maddy Aquino, Stephanie Aquino, Sylvia Chen, Wynne Chen, William Dai, Elena Fang, Alexander Gou, Amanda Im, Carolyne Im, Sophia Li, Tyler Li, LeAnne Lin, Isabella Robieson and Tiffany Yen.
