Programs and Piano Events

Achievement In Music (AIM)

After the first year of study, all students will be expected to participate in the annual Achievement in Music (AIM) exams sponsored by the Illinois State Music Teachers Association.  Please click on the link for AIM to get more information.

Festival of Pianos

Students interested in ensemble playing are encouraged to participate in the annual Festival of Pianos sponsored by the Northwest Suburban Music Teachers Association.  This event occurs in late September or early October at Northbrook Court.  Information and application forms are available in May.

Libertyville Piano Festival

Students that enjoy festivals and long term goals are encouraged to participate in the Libertyville Piano Festival, an annual event sponsored by the Libertyville Piano Club.  Students earn points on their performance of 2 pieces based on judges rating.  Students can then accumulate points from year to year to earn 1st Trophy, 2nd Trophy and 3rd Trophy for continued participation.  

Competitions and Festivals

As additional incentives and challenges, students may participate in area piano competitions and festivals.  This is optional but encouraged for students to gain a higher level of musical refinement and goals.  I try to seek out competitions and festivals that provide a positive and rewarding experience.
